T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream)

So i got the T-mobile G1 or HTC Dream when it first came out because it had Linux and i knew id be customizable. If anyone hasn't heard you can install Debian on this phone and even install X11 or any type of desktop environment. So i didn't have any desire to do this at first because not much worked in Debian and it was all command line. But now i think i will try it out, that way i can show off my phone at the next install fest! Does anyone else have a T-Mobile G1?

Here is a link about Debian on the G1

well i got Debian working but when i went to install LXDE environment i got a couple 404 errors so i tried to add another repos because another person said that worked for him but it didn't for me. Now i'm just waiting for a reponse and then its on to the rest of the install.

i'll probably post a video of it running when its all done.

You're a braver man than I am

No, I don't have a G1. I have enough trouble with the Razr I have, getting it to do what I want and not in a way that will cost me more.

Good post, though. Keep it up.
